Since permanently moving to MDI in 2012, I spend time either plein air painting or working from my photo file, experimenting with watercolor, acrylics, gouache, oils and printmaking. I am particularly interested in capturing the light, color and mood of different times of day in my paintings of landscapes, seascapes and harbor activities.
I have a BS from University of RI (1972) and an MAE from Rhode Island School of Design (1989). During the summer of 1996 I received a fellowship from NEH to study “The Major Paintings of Winslow Homer” at Syracuse University. I studied watercolor with John Laughlin, Lincoln RI for 4 years and with Betty Lou Schlemm of Rockport MA for 13 years.
My art has hung in numerous juried shows in Rhode Island and on MDI. I have received awards in pen & ink, sculpture, photography and watercolor. I have also illustrated several booklets.
