I paint because I love color! When I view the landscape, I notice reflected colors and interesting shadows that make our world more vibrant.
I begin a painting either plein air or by photographing an image that draws my interest. I then choose an under-painting color, which will add warmth and contrast to the finished piece.
My contemporary paintings are both realistic and whimsically abstract, reflecting the colors of the Maine coast with a heightened imagination.
